Все три типа определителей в одном предложении встречаются крайте редко.
Обычно в предложении бывает представлен один или два типа.
Predeterminers
Predeterminers определяют количество последующего существительного.
Их можно объединить в три основные группы:
1. Группа "умножения", включаяющая также выражения, оканчивающиеся на times:
twice my salary
double my salary
ten times my salary
2. "Деление"
half my salary
one-third my salary
3. Слова all и both:
all my salary
both my salaries
Как правило перед существительным употребляется только один Predeterminer:
*all half my salary -нетипичное выражение
Central Determiners
Определённый артикль the и неопределённый артикль a/an - самые распространённые Central Determiners:
all the book
half a chapter
Как показывают предыдущие примеры,
притяжательные местоимения типа my также могут занимать место Central Determiner.
all your money
all his/her money
all our money
all their money
Указательные местоимения также являются central determiners:
all these problems
twice that size
four times this amount
Postdeterminers
Количественные и порядковые числительные занимают место postdeterminers
:
the two children
his fourth birthday
Это относится и к словам, описывающим последовательность:
my next project
our last meeting
your previous remark
her subsequent letter
Выражения, обозначающие количество, также относятся к postdeterminers:
my many friends
our several achievements
the few friends that
I have
В отличие от predeterminers, перед существительным может стоять несколько postdeterminers :
my next two projects
several other people
